I’ve been thinking about other things that can disturb a Bible study, but here’s one that can throw us the first time it happens.

Maybe someone starts crying. It might be right to say Let’s take a break and to gently take the person out of the room. That’s what I’ll do if it’s a guy; if it’s a woman I’ll suggest to one of the other women that the two of them go out for a chat.

I hope that thinking about these seven different behaviours hasn’t freaked you out! I doubt there’s any group where all seven of these people are present, and once you start to deal wisely with the situations that do crop up you will find yourself growing in confidence.
